It’s been a long time since my last post about bouldering gyms in Seoul. One reason for that is, during the good-weather time I prefer to spend much more time for sport climbing. The other reason is, there are too many small gyms around Seoul now. It’s impossible to write about all and for me, not all of them worth mentioning. But lately I’ve visited the Climbing Park in Gangnam.

I think I’ve found my new favorite gym!
What you will find in this post

How is the facility?
Der Climbing Park was newly opened in May 2019. All rooms are very clean, tidy, and you can still smell the painting color when enter.

Mr. Kim, the owner of Climbing Park is very friendly and can speak English. He also gives additional classes, if you need any.
Here you will find everything you need: changing and shower room with lockers, a relaxing stretching room, hanging board and other power training equipment. You can also rent or buy shoes as well as chalk.

How is the route setting?
The gym features three bouldering walls, each 4.5~5m high. Route setting is very interesting with various difficulties and styles. The starting point of a route as well as its difficulties is marked by the tape colors.

Moreover, there are tow traverse walls for class and endurance training.

Due to Mr. Kim, the route settings here will be changed biweekly on Friday. So you’ll never get bored.

I also notice that there are many dyno-bouldering problems in this gym. If you enjoy dyno-climbing, it’s a must to go here.

This isn’t the gym you get strong at. Just go for fun once but train somewhere with real climbers who want to get better. Not instagram models and gym bro’s.
